After I weed whacked the grass in Roxy's Square today, I tried to get her to pose in one of her favorite dirt spots in front of the plumbago pergola. I love this candid shot I wound up with instead. You can feel her happiness in her expression and the full tail wag. She was more interested in posing after she proudly stole the treats I put down on the trampoline. She can be a thief but her reaction to getting caught is so endearing. She is maybe never happier than when she gets a good snag. It's like she knows it's wrong but she chooses to appreciate that obviously I left them for her and also expects my happiness for one of the best good fortune moments of her life. I love that she chooses joy and pride over shame.

I planted this plumbago at the base of the pergola pole about two years ago. She is quite bushy right now and has lots of active new growth from some recent yummy rain. I will spend a little time this weekend on continuing to train her up and up... a meditative ritual I enjoy every few months or so. I love how green and lush the photo of the pergola feels and I think the lines in the structures and the shadows are really beautiful. Photography definitely inspires a reconsideration of light and shadows.
There is a passionflower vine - see the frog feet I mentioned in the Grounding post?! - mixed in and also some blue pea vine. Roxy loves when I hang out in her Square with her <3
