A beautiful mess

I messed w/ the SEO settings and now my site design is all f*cked up. As the virtual representation of my garden/life, I am accepting it as a constantly evolving beautiful mess w/ no urgency to fix it. Last week I wrote about making beautiful things happen but now I want to recognize that the process and journey can feel so messy. I was weeding outside of Roxy's Square this morning - a rare occasion bc I live on a busy street - and as I was moving pavers around, I recalled that when I first started using them to delineate native plant beds in 2020ish, my motivation was aesthetics. Over time this has evolved and I have learned to adjust the pavers regularly to protect individual recruits as beds naturally expand. The eventual goal is a complete no mow conversion... it's a slow, cathartic, and deliberate removal of grass and replacement with native pollinator plants. It is messy and beautiful - a persistent commitment to enhancing local biodiversity by replacing an unsupportive, boring monoculture with flowers and butterflies. A nurtured piece of living art and a rejection of harmful norms and expectations that satisfies my inner romantic and rebel spirit.
I was on social media for a few weeks < it felt soo good to deactivate again this morning - I think it was really contrubuting to how tired & clouded I have been feeling! > and while I was on, I shared my blog a few different ways and there wasn't much interest. I think my attempts to share w/ pollinator gardening groups were even blocked LOL, I don't care enough to figure out how to get it out there and it is nice to feel like I am writing mostly to myself- a truly free form of self expression. I have journaled on/off my entire life and this feels similar but quicker and easier in a way - journaling is always handwritten and requires me to really slow down to process my thoughts, a useful tool when I feel overwhelmed or stuck. This space is so fun because I can bang out a quick expression of whatever small or large moments inspire me. I recently googled the 'psychology of blogging' and felt very validated in how much I enjoy creating in this space. Apparently there are tons of personal benefits and I feel that. I would absolutely love if this eventually became a community space for sharing, learning, collaborating - but if my first stab at SEO settings is any indication...

This picture reflects my gardening satisfaction - enjoying our beautiful mess of a garden/life, quite content w/ a few square feet of freshly weeded area in Roxy's Square. Sharing this photo made me look up the little cocoon things covering the exterior of my house. They are called bagworms and according to google they are not harmful to people or pets but they can be a landscaping nuisance. These are really common critters in humid Florida. I have always ignored them and will likely continue to do so until I sell my house. I wonder when that will be.
Speaking of beautiful creations that inspire...if you haven't already seen the Netflix documentary about the couple that recently climbed the empire state building called Skywalkers, A Love Story - it is totally worth a watch. Especially for all of you who also enjoy beauty | art | creation | romance...
What would you create if you didn't care about the messy process, norms, who was reading, who was watching, etc?

Yes! I can relate so fully to having the space to express the little and large musings often trapped in our minds. It's liberating and scary and fun and insightful and courageous!
I'm so glad we can connect in this way and look forward to reading and seeing more :)
