Glimmers

This week has been very overwhelming but I will never be too down on myself or my circumstances to not notice the important little beauties. I saw this monarch through my office window yesterday - these are relatively rare in my yard, although I am hoping to start seeing them more with some milkweed that I managed to get established recently. This bush is a native lantanta, common name: buttonsage, species name: Lantana involucrata. I often see butterflies on this beautiful shrub while I work but it most often attracts zebra longwings. This monarch was a special treat in this otherwise complete stress ball of a week. This too shall pass but while it does, I will intentionally pause to fully appreciate the treasures - what do you notice as you navigate the ups and downs of life? This is my (self) reminder to actively choose to appreciate the beautiful moments, especially during the hard times - this can be tough and requires discipline when you are consumed but maybe it makes appreciating these moments even more valuable - little glimmers of light to lean into and redefine the times.

I almost didn't save the one below bc it is so overexposed but I adjusted it a bit and I think the bright cherry tone feels appropriate for the moment and also accurately depicts how blazing, oppressively hot and sunny it is in Florida right now!
