STEAMY|MORNING |THOUGHTS

I went out to enjoy Roxy's Square this morning but it was so steamy out that my lens kept fogging when I would get close to the ground. The sun is shining after a day or two of gloomy slow on/off rain. I wonder what the solution is for this situation. One of my favorite photographer's specialties is shooting south Florida swamp environments. I wonder what kind of accommodations he has to make to his equipment to avoid the steamy effect on the lens. <If you haven't heard of him, check out Cyde Butcher - famous in Florida conservation circles for stunning black|white landscape photography> I do love wet, steamy, tropical environments so likely a problem I will continue to encounter in my journey. I decided to spend some time playing with layout settings of the blog instead. Keeping it looking how I want it is double the learning curve between web and mobile layout!

Here's a photo of Roxy's nosy snoot with my favorite spiderwort clump and a mixed groundcover of sunshine mimosa and blue portwerweed. Sunshine mimosa is a beautiful FL native groundcover and an excellent substitute for traditional grass bc it typically sprawls low - no mowing, no fertilizers, no irrigation needed...major win win win for the budget, maintenance, and the environment! Blue portweed is nice too but be careful bc I believe there are two varieties: one is a FL native and the other can be considered invasive. To be honest, I am not sure which variety I have for certain but it is low lying and does not spread aggressively so she is welcome to stay!
Shout out to my best editor and number one member for catching an incorrect species on last nights post. I am enjoying blogging bc I have the liberty of writing in a personal, stylistic, and fluid way ie these posts get created quickly and are error prone. In the world I spend most of my time operating in of reports, grant writing, regulatory commenting, etc - this is a fun luxury for someone who does enjoy writing in general! I will always try my best to be as accurate and correct as possible in the information I share but I will never claim to be perfect and am happy to make corrections as needed. I hope everyone is enjoying a very happy Sunday!
